BUFFALO, NY, October 9, 2024 - The Buffalo Area Aquatic Club (BAAC) is pleased to announce that Ron Zugelder has been elevated to Head Coach effective October 15th after serving as Assistant Coach since 2020. Zugelder will take over for Mike Cutler who is retiring from coaching and returning to his hometown in Michigan to be closer to family. Click here for additional details.

BAAC had another great weekend in the pool, competing in the Star Long Course Kick-Off meet May 31st - June 2nd. We had 76 swimmers participate, resulting in 208 best times swam. In the process, 3 new BAAC club records were broken Congratulations to Aiden Pickard for setting new records for the 13-14 boys 200 Breast (2:39.75) & 50 Free (26.16). Additionally, a new record was set for the 9-10 200 Free Relay (2:59.88) by Declan Drexinger, Piero Manavella, Jack Ryan & Binnat Huseynov. Congrats to all swimmers!

BAAC swimmer Sarah Reid competed earlier this month at the Bill Keating Memorial Para-Swimming Open in Cincinnati, Ohio. Sarah swam personal bests in the 50m back (1:38.85) and 50m breast (1:55.27). Congratulations Sarah on a fantastic competition!

While BAAC was hosting the Niagara Long Course Championship, Sarah Reid competed in the Move United Junior Nationals in Denver, Colorado. She finished the competition with four first place finishes in Short Course for 50 free, 50 back, 50 breast and 100 back! In the long course, she received first place finishes for the 200 IM, 100 free and a second place finish for the 50 fly! During the week, she also participated in a 3 hour clinic with coaches from US Paralympics as well as current and former paralympians....

BUFFALO, NY, October 7, 2019 - The Buffalo Area Aquatic Club (BAAC) hosted the first meet of the USA Swimming short course season with a Pentathlon format at the University at Buffalo’s Alumni Arena last weekend.
